Almost two years since her retirement from professional soccer, Alex Morgan continues to make a difference as an advocate for women’s sports. The 36-year-old's venture-capital firm is among the investors in a women’s golf league coming this winter and a professional flag-football league for men and women that will launch ahead of the sport’s Olympic debut in 2028. Morgan also has a minority stake in the National Women’s Soccer League’s San Diego Wave FC, which retired her No. 13 in September. The prolific striker won a NWSL title with Portland in 2013 and scored 123 goals in 224 appearances for the U.S. women’s national team, which won gold at the 2012 Summer Games and consecutive World Cup titles in 2015 and 2019 during her career. Morgan's legacy includes her role in the USWNT’s successful fight for pay equity.
