Natalie Portman may have played a main character in the Star Wars prequels, but during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she revealed that she has never shown her son the famous trilogy.
In a clip from Monday’s installment of the late night show, the 35-year-old actress — who starred as Padmé Amidala in the space fantasy saga — tells Kimmel that she made the movies picturing how fun it would be to watch them with her future kids, but thanks to Padmé’s fate, ended up changing her mind.
“It’s kind of a shame,” she says. “You know, when I made it, I was like, ‘This is going to be the coolest thing. One day when I have kids, I can show them.’ And boys, of course, are obsessed with it and know all about it before they’ve seen it. [But] I realized, I die in the movies. I feel like it’s kind of a scary thing to show your kid.”
“You can’t show him Black Swan either I guess,” Kimmel jokes.
